We head to Alba Iulia – a key city in the history of Romania. Here, we will explore the city’s highlight – the Alba Carolina Citadel, a fortification built in the Vauban style. The Citadel is shaped like a seven-pointed star and is home to many historical buildings, such as The Catholic Church (est. 1009), The Orthodox Church and the Coronation Cathedral (Catedrala Reîntregirii Neamului). We will also visit the Batthyaneum Library, where we will find manuscripts and books attesting the most important historical moments in Romanian History. Other important highlights are The Unification Hall and The National Museum.
